Five Elements Micrometeorological Instrument, model FT-WQX5S, features an exterior made of stainless steel. This material not only boasts high strength, capable of withstanding a certain degree of external impact, but also exhibits excellent anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties. This makes it suitable for long-term use in harsh outdoor environments, thereby effectively extending the service life of the instrument.
It integrates the monitoring functions of five meteorological elements—wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure—into a highly integrated structure. It can realize 24-hour continuous online monitoring of outdoor meteorological parameters and transmit these five parameters to users at one time through a digital communication interface. Specifically, the measurement range of wind speed is usually 0-60m/s with an accuracy of ±0.1m/s; the measurement range of wind direction is 0-360° with an accuracy of ±2°; the measurement range of temperature is -40℃-80℃ with an accuracy of ±0.3℃; the measurement range of humidity is 0-100% RH with an accuracy of ±3% RH.
The working principle is to measure wind speed using the ultrasonic time-difference method. Since the speed of sound propagation in air will be superimposed with the airflow speed in the wind direction, the precise wind speed and direction can be obtained by calculating the speed difference of ultrasonic waves propagating in different directions. It also detects wind speed and direction by measuring the relative phase and emits continuous frequency-modulated ultrasonic signals, which overcomes the inherent defects of mechanical anemometers and wind vanes and enables them to work normally around the clock.
The top cover adopts a hidden ultrasonic probe design, which can avoid interference caused by rain and snow accumulation and blocking by natural wind. It performs real-time measurement without the requirement of starting wind speed. It has strong anti-interference ability, with a built-in watchdog circuit and automatic reset function to ensure stable operation of the system. The instrument has a high degree of integration, no moving parts, no wear problems, no on-site calibration required, and low maintenance costs.
The standard output signal of the product design is an RS485 communication interface, which follows the MODBUS protocol. It can also be optionally equipped with 232, USB, and Ethernet interfaces to support real-time data reading. An external wireless transmission module can also be optionally configured, with a minimum transmission interval of 1 minute, facilitating remote data transmission. In addition, a built-in heating module can be optionally added according to requirements to ensure normal operation in freezing environments.
It has a wide range of applications, including urban environmental monitoring, wind power generation, meteorological monitoring, bridges and tunnels, marine vessels, aviation airports, etc. It can also provide meteorological data support for agricultural production, helping farmers monitor the environment, predict weather changes, and determine the optimal time for agricultural operations.
